About the PositionVENUS is looking for a E-Commerce Copywriter who will be responsible for writing informative and engaging copy descriptions for all the styles in our product assortment. This copywriter will be a passionate storytelling with the ability to craft compelling content that elevates brand messaging across all VENUS channels – including website, email, paid and organic social, SMS, blog, catalog and other formats to support product campaigns.
The role is responsible for maintaining the brand voice and upholding consistency across channels. You’ll be sifting through surface-level details and campaign briefs to write something authentic and engaging. You’ll collaborate closely with the design and merchandising teams to stay informed about product details and fit, as well as trends and inspiration behind each style – and then bring this to life to empower our customers to shop at Venus.com.
ResponsibilitiesConcepting and writing engaging and compelling copy and stories across digital platforms and the VENUS catalogStreamline copy across all channels to ensure one singular brand voice. Including, but not limited to: catalog, email, social media and the websiteWork closely with the Creative and Visual Merchandising teams to bring your words to life, creating a complete and compelling conceptWork cross-functionally to ideate and execute dynamic content stories that amplify trending and seasonal topics, brand campaigns, news and eventsHave a clear understanding and passion for women’s fashion with knowledge about trends, styles and fashion terminologyResearch and share competitive insights about latest fashion industry copy and content innovations/best-practices
QualificationsHighly creative writer who can provide samples of work Excellent communication skills Knowledge of women’s fashion styles, trends and terminology Strong organizational and time-management skills Detail-oriented Experience with WordPress and social media a plusAbility to work independently and as part of a team – in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects at once, and ability to work within tight deadlines
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Marketing, English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Advertising, or related experience3+ years of related experience, preferably at an agency or fashion brandAn ongoing interest in retail and fashionA team-player mentality and strong work ethic – with the ability to multitask
