This role will be hybrid from our San Francisco Office (360 Third Street, #425, San Francisco, CA 94107).

As Verana Health reinvents how research happens with data and technology in the healthcare space, we are growing our Quantitative Sciences team to solve complex real-world problems across multiple therapeutic areas, including urology, ophthalmology, and neurology. We are looking for a Senior Manager within the Data and Science Department with experience interfacing with life science companies to support a variety of teams, such as HEOR and medical affairs, by providing analytic solutions that generate evidence across different use cases that span the clinical development cycle.

This role will report directly to the Director of Analytic Solutions in Data and Science. Direct experience working with ophthalmology, urology, and/or neurology clinical data is considered a plus. This role will oversee Verana Health’s analytic services offering, which includes insight generation and consultative support on data products directly accessed by commercial partners. Job Duties And Responsibilities

Verana Health is looking for a Senior Manager with a background in managing a team executing on research studies involving epidemiology and/or biostatistics, specifically with observational data, as well as experience collaborating directly with life science companies.

Serve as a player-coach in terms of providing people management as well as being a hands-on individual contributor for critical commercial retrospective clinical studies, which includes owning the development of the protocols, methodology and statistical analysis plans as well as driving results interpretation and read-outs.Enable discussions with life science customers to understand project objectives and stakeholder needs in order to align with Verana’s offeringsServe as a point of escalation for direct reports within the Data and Science team for analytic services projectsHas a solid grasp of overseeing individuals implementing relevant technical approaches (biostatistics and/or epidemiology)Have a strong familiarity with designing analyses using observational data to ensure robust conclusions can be madeDirect experience working with teams embedded within life science organizations (e.g., HEOR, medical affairs, commercial)Collaborate cross-functionally with teams (e.g., Commercial, Product, Medical, Engineering/Technology, etc.) to translate clinical investigation questions into detailed data analytics requirements for internal and external projects

Basic Requirements

Master’s or doctorate in a quantitative discipline (e.g., biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience5+ years customer-facing experience working through client solutioning/scoping and escalations5+ years working with life science/pharmaceutical/biotechnology organizations and familiarity with providing analytic services to these groups3+ years managing teams that design and execute research studies for life sciencesFamiliarity with clinical datasets and market landscape of various data offeringsFamiliarity with pharmaceutical industry’s strategy and business processes, including clinical trials, new drug introduction and clinical operationsClear communication skills and able to deliver internal/external presentations, particularly to executive teamsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives with high attention to detail

We pay based on a market-based approach, supported with robust data and in alignment with the compensation of our existing team. We construct our compensation ranges based on the US national average but your pay may vary depending on your location and the cost of living index for that geographic area. In determining an offer, base salary will also be based on experience, qualifications, skills and market conditions.
