Financial Controller, Financial Strategy Location – Hanover, MD (Hybrid)

The Financial Controller is a newly created opportunity within a PE-backed, highly acquisitive, and rapidly growing company based in the Hanover, Maryland area with facilities throughout the US. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this leadership position will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, helping drive financial strategy, and supporting transformation initiatives. This opportunity will offer a base salary in the $165,000 to $175,000 range, 25% annual bonus, aggressive equity plan, and full suite of highly competitive benefits. This is an exceptional opportunity for candidates with 8 plus years of experience, CPA, public accounting, and ideally exposure to private equity backed organizations.

Financial Controller – Job Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing all accounting operations such as general ledger accounting, tax, treasury, technical accounting, and internal controls.Serve as an active member of company’s Senior Leadership Team to help drive business strategy and transformation efforts to become the leading company in the marketplace. Recruiting, managing, and developing a best-in-class accounting department.Partnering with the CFO to determine accounting and tax implications for all material and complex business transactions.Overseeing timely and accurate financial reportingOverseeing all accounting operations; ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with U.S. GAAPActing as a liaison to internal and external audit firmsOverseeing tax compliance and strategy in conjunction with the Tax team and the CFO.Overseeing the treasury function, including cash flow forecasting and bank reporting, in partnership with the CFOWorking with Senior Management and Corporate Development on M&A activities when needed.Partnering and sponsoring cross-functional committees to support the organization’s transformation initiative and other strategic initiatives.Helping to lead (in conjunction with the CFO and the VP of FP&A) the implementation of new accounting software which is part of the company’s Digital Transformation Initiative to support its rapidly expanding scale. Collaborating and contributing to the Senior Leadership Team to improve overall company performance.Serving as the Company's technical accounting expert and updating the Audit Committee and Senior Management on changes to accounting rules and its impact on the businessPresenting with the CFO to the Audit Committee

Financial Controller – Job Requirements8+ years of progressive experience in financial and accounting roles to the management level. CPA preferred with experience at a Big 4 or next tier public accounting firm. MBA is desirable. Experience in management reporting for a Private Equity backed organization. Exposure to multi-site organization preferred. Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and GAAP compliance. Experience with subscription based or SAAS business models highly preferred. Demonstrated track-record of improving systems and being part of a team that helps modernize processes to drive a more efficient and scalable business model; ERP implementation experience is a plus. Ability to work onsite on hybrid basis (2-3 days a week) at company’s office in Hanover, MD
