📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Assists in the timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll, including the reconciliation of the payroll input and output reports. Researches all identified payroll discrepancies.

RESPONSIBILITIESReview and prepare employees’ time and attendance information for submission to the Payroll Vendor.Analyze time reported within the Time and Attendance System for accuracy, ensure the proper authorization and approvals are in place.Ensure all time cards reflect the minimum scheduled hours based on specific pay rules.Research and resolve any time discrepancies and notify the appropriate manager tocorrect and resolve. Process prior week adjustments when necessary.Import the necessary data files from the Time and Attendance System (UKG) to payroll system (Ceridian).

Process and review employee data changes within the Payroll System.Review payroll verification reports that are imported into the Payroll system from Human Resources.Process requests received from employees and other external agencies for direct deposits, union dues, tax withholding, child support, wage attachments and wage levies etc.Calculate and input benefit time for payments in accordance with policies and contracts.Generate special pays as required and calculate retroactive salary adjustments as needed.

Provide on-going payroll related customer support in a timely and courteous manner.Provide support to mobile/online payroll system users and respond to employee inquiries as needed.Assist Human Resources with inquiries regarding employee pay and benefit information.Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulation regarding taxes and payroll.Comprehensive customer service for employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures.Assist with special projects as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONAssociate’s degree in accounting or business administration.

EXPERIENCE3 - 5 years’ payroll experience required. Knowledge of payroll concepts, laws andregulations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines.Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills. Ability to utilize VLOOKUP and Pivot tables recommended.Team player with strong interpersonal skills.Detailed oriented with strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
