Director, Indirect Procurement – Americas

This position will be responsible for sourcing activities in the corporate services, operations, marketing, media and capital categories with a total annual spend greater than $500M. Additionally, this position will oversee VF’s North America Supplier Diversity Program and communicating metrics and recommendations to senior leadership. This leader is accountable for the strategic execution of multi-year progressive targets and managing a team that is responsible for the achievement of sourcing strategies, RFx’s (Request For Proposals/Information/quotation), negotiations, performing industry analyses, and developing plans to deliver supplier diversity targets.

How You Will Make a Difference

Collaborate across brands, functions, and regions to provide strategic direction to stakeholders. Lead multifunctional teams to execute sourcing processes. Plan, manage, coordinate, and lead multiple category sourcing projects. Evaluate opportunities by category and prioritize the activities of the team to focus on the most significant work. Ensure projected savings opportunities and value is delivered based on the best supplier selection being made. Track and report value delivered across categories of responsibility. Serve as an expert of procurement best practices and model them to other functions and leaders in the company. Execute and align activities such that they follow best practices to achieve greatest total value. Act as a member of the procurement leadership team to perform organization assessments and succession planning to develop and grow talent across the department. Develop organization plan and budget. Manage plan and budget within the overall department budget. Own, develop and improve organizational work processes and standards. Develop and train others across the department to adhere to them. Analyze, review, and finalize sourcing decisions based on process outcomes and negotiate agreements to ensure suppliers meet all of VF’s requirements as determined by subject matter experts and stakeholders. Serve as liaison between the legal department and supplier to speed the process, protect the best interest of VF contractually and ensure successful and timely contract implementations. Perform periodic supplier performance reviews to communicate actual and perceived performance issues with suppliers. Develop plans to improve performance and/or hold supplier accountable to meeting commitments. Continuously develop procurement skills and knowledge of the supply base through research, due diligence, training, benchmarking, and other means. Assist direct reports and others in the department to do the same. Support and grow VF’s Supplier Diversity Program by developing and implementing strategies to enhance supplier diversity, promote inclusion, and drive equitable procurement practices within our organization.

Skills for Success

Years of Related Professional Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in procurement or sourcing with five years of management experience. Experience with Supplier Diversity and indirect procurement categories such as marketing, temporary labor, energy, facilities, packaging, human resource services, capital equipment and construction.

Educational/ Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experienceEffective communicator, both written and oral, who is able to influence and advise at all levels and across functions and regions of the VF organization. Excellent negotiation skills and is able to train and lead others in complex negotiations. Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements

Travel by air and overnight, as required 20% of time. Some evening and weekend work required.

Hiring Range

$146,880.00 USD - $183,600.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
