Job Responsibilities:Perform electromechanical design work for a novel, complex surgical robotic systemDevelop software in C++ and Java to control electromechanical systemsParticipate in planning and executing product development from prototype to FDA-approved productEnsure that the design process conforms to requirements for design control and risk control proceduresDevelop and implement verification testing plans for mechanical and electrical components and assembliesWork closely with other engineering disciplines to design software-controlled and motorized systemsCommunicate and coordinate with coworkers, vendors, and consultants to ensure completion of shared goalsWork on-site in Nashville, TNEducation/Experience Requirements:2+ years of product development experience in a highly regulated industryBachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering-related field Candidates with additional experience will be considered for higher level positionsAn ideal candidate will have:Excellent solid modelling skills (Solidworks preferred)Experience designing mechanical assemblies and creating engineering drawings for manufacturingDevelop software in C++ and Java to control electromechanical systemsExperience in electrical engineering/PCB design fundamentalsStrong hands-on engineering skills including assembling and debugging electrical equipment (MCUs, sensors, communication buses, etc.)Experience leading teams and mentoring other engineersStrong verbal and written communication skills
