📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client is a well established Retail and Apparel company with a major online / e-com presence. They seek a Senior Accountant who can work on a variety of general accounting duties, get involved in special projects, and is looking for a company that can accelerate their career!
They offer a flexible 1-2 days per week in office hybrid schedule. Located just blocks from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan, they have a great office, top notch colleagues, and a company with an outstanding reputation in the industry!
Job Duties:Own the monthly close process with specific areas of focus including Revenue Recognition, Inventory, Fulfillment, Accounts Receivable and detailed account reconciliations in accordance with GAAPPrepare journal entries, analysis and reconciliations of P&L and Balance Sheet accountsPerform variance analysis of actual vs budget/forecast by department and investigate unusual variancesOversee collection efforts and partner with merchandising and marketing teams to establish consistent information flowIdentify process improvement opportunities to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of month end closeInteract cross functionally with key business leaders to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely and accurate monthly reportingContribute to department and company on special projects specifically through automation and efficiency efforts and technology implementations
Qualifications:4+ years experience in an Accounting role; public is a plus but not requiredThorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)CPA is a plus
