Ophthalmic Photographer

Vitreo Retinal Consultants and Surgeons is looking for an Ophthalmic Photographer to join our team on a full time basis.Our Ophthalmic Photographers are responsible for using highly specialized imaging equipment to take detailed, accurate pictures of the eye and its inner structures as ordered by the physicians. The Ophthalmic Photographer will travel with physicians to satellite clinics on a rotating basis within the state of Kansas (Salina, Hutchinson, Garden City, Parsons and Independence)Responsibilities:Perform fundus photography, OCT, ultrasound, visual fields and fluorescein angiographyEnsure imaging is performed in an efficient and timely mannerUpload patient images to correct patient chartProperly maintain and care for equipmentFunctions as an integral part of the patient care team and promotes patient satisfaction by interacting with patients in a professional and friendly mannerMaintains confidentiality and adheres to OSHA, HIPAA and Medicare guidelinesOther duties as assignedSkills:Knowledge of eye terminology, anatomy and pathology of the eyeEMR Experience requiredHigh attention to detailInterpersonal skills necessary to communicate to the patient the nature of the procedure while minimizing any apprehensionAbility to work in a fast paced environmentPhlebotomy experience a plus but not requiredSalary proportionate with experienceEducation/Training:Minimum of two years of experience as ophthalmic photographer or ophthalmic technician with willingness to learnHigh School Diploma or equivalentPhysical requirements:Frequent standing and sittingAbility to operate imaging devicesRegular use of computer
