📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Almosta Ranch Alpacas is a fledgling nonprofit working to open it doors. We serve our clients by paying them a wage while they work on our farm, receive an education, learn employable skills, meet their therapeutic needs and build a community. Our goal is to remove barriers and encourage successful reentry and long term recovery. Almosta Ranch Alpacas is a fledgling nonprofit organization that needs assistance to help open our doors. We are a transitional employment program that serves those in early substance use recovery, justice involved persons and veterans.
We need volunteers to help us open and to assist us once we get funding. We're looking for trades people to assist in creating a classroom for educational activities, breaks, socialization, etc. We also need assistance with fencing and irrigation.
We'd like a variety of people to work on socializing the alpacas and mini pigs. This mostly entails walking with them on lead and generally spending time with them. May include some clean up. This is an excellent opportunity for volunteer hours for graduating seniors. Also could be really fun for kids.
We're also seeking social media help to assist with garnering donations and community involvement. This position can be done remotely. We'd like someone or a group of someones to plan fundraisers and events.
We also need assistance in accounting and legal services. There's also opportunities for social work and therapy volunteer positions. This would be an excellent opportunity for earning practical hours for those earning credit for a degree in mental health/SUD professions.
