Tutoria connects people in need with volunteer tutors via our online platform. Volunteers and clients sign up at https // tutoria.io. They select their interests (English tutoring, US Citizenship, or legal aid) and availability. They then connect with one another via direct message.
Why Tutoria? There is a strong demand from immigrants for education and legal services around the world. There is also a large supply of volunteers offering to teach such classes. The bottleneck is that connecting immigrants and volunteers is done manually by non-profit staff, who do not have the capacity to provide matching/scheduling services. As a volunteer, you will not only create a social impact by helping us meet this need; you will benefit personally by working closely with a passionate group of volunteer professionals, including Tutoria’s leadership.
Overview
Tutoria is seeking a passionate and dedicated Technical Recruiter to join our team on a volunteer basis to find volunteers for the IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical recruiting process and a commitment to finding and screening top talent for our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Source and identify potential candidates, in particular software developersScreen candidates by reviewing resumesConduct virtual interviews with qualified candidatesEvaluate candidates' technical skills, experience, and cultural fitCoordinate with the IT team to schedule and conduct final interviewsAttend weekly check-in meetings to discuss recruiting progress and challenges
Qualifications
Professional experience as a recruiterAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to diversity and inclusionProficiency in using recruiting tools and technologiesAbility to commit 3-5 hours per week, including a weekly check-in meeting
Nice to Haves
Experience in technical recruiting, hiring software developersA network that can be leveraged for sourcing volunteersKnowledge of the web development ecosystem
