Intern: Truck Financial Services Sales Support Analyst (Summer 2024)

What You Will Do

The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment to support/promote the student's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities with Volvo Financial Services by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns and our full-time professionals work together on projects and allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Financial Services.

This summer internship will start May 20th and end in early August, actual end date to be determined individually. All Volvo Group North America internships are compensated with a competitive wage.

The intern will assist with a variety of task-oriented work with the Truck Financial Services team including, but not limited to improving existing processes, performing market analysis, and assisting with sales support.

Responsibilities

Sales Assistance: Provide essential support to the truck financing team, including data entry, document management, and client correspondence.Financial Analysis: Assist in conducting financial analysis to evaluate creditworthiness, assess risk factors, and determine appropriate financing terms for heavy and medium-duty truck transactions.Financial Planning: Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling efforts specific to the heavy and medium-duty truck financing sector.Client Interaction: Engage with clients to gather financial information, address inquiries, and provide support throughout the financing process.Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities within the heavy and medium-duty truck financing market.

Must be enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.Must have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make sound recommendations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Previous experience or coursework in financial analysis, planning, or related fields is desirable.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
