Senior Engineer - Usability Features Leader

What You Will Do

At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As a Driver Interface/Usability Feature Engineer, you will lead usability activities for new and existing products. This will include the following responsibilities:

Define requirements and verification methods in order to verify and validate the feature level. Translate the product targets into quantifiable product requirements together with the project team.Create verification & validation plan for the feature in projects.Secure, maintain, and develop the feature knowledge over a longer time period for different brands, segments, markets & applications.Lead cross-functional teams to define, develop, and carry out user clinics.Perform market research for competitor vehicle analysis, future technologies, and regulations.Communicate with global cross-functional teams including multiple engineering disciplines, brands, functions, aftermarket, design, and product planning.Clearly communicate feature needs to stakeholders and other affected teams.

Our team, Driving Environment, is a part of the Cab Engineering Department for Volvo Group Trucks North America. Our team is responsible for driving a new way forward for our users both in our trucks, as well as connected devices by providing them with a safe and comfortable experience while driving, living, and working.

You are a Usability professional that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, with experience and knowledge in various aspects of driver interaction. You enjoy working collaboratively in a team to achieve a shared goal while also taking the initiative to lead and complete tasks on your own.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in HCI (Human Computer Interaction), HMI (Human Machine Interaction), Interaction Design, or related field 5-8+ years of related engineering experience4+ years of experience in Driver Interface, HMI, or UsabilityAbility to interpret and breakdown high level needs into low-level requirementsAutomotive experience a plus
