LA-based Real Estate fund is on the market for a dynamic VP Fund Controller to join the team. The firm manages $1b in AUM and specializes in value-added real estate strategies that aim to optimize risk-adjusted returns for institutional investors. Collaborating with local operators and sector specialists, we explore detailed real estate opportunities throughout the United States.
The VP Fund Controller will play a key role in spearheading the creation, execution, and oversight of accounting and reporting procedures, encompassing investor reporting and overseeing cash management. Moreover, this role entails providing leadership and direction to the operational partner and operations team to deliver valuable insights and guidance, nurturing their professional development. As an integral part of the Operations Team, responsibilities include executing high-quality accounting, reporting, financial, and cash management tasks to uphold the company's operational standards.
This position offers a 2 day work from home policy, a competitive base salary with 20% performance bonuses and exceptional benefits package.
Requirements:BA in Accounting, Finance or related field10+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 4 years of real estate experiencePublic Accounting and/or CPA license highly desiredDemonstrates expertise in fair value reporting for real estate investments and debt obligations.Familiarity with Real Estate & Private Equity Funds Accounting.Displays advanced proficiency in Yardi or similar finance software.Exhibits advanced skills in MS Excel modeling and accounting analysis.Proficient in using PowerPoint for effective communication.Demonstrates a proven ability to collaborate with senior leadership on intricate financial and operational scenarios.Shows an ability and eagerness to convey complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including those without finance and accounting expertise.Possesses strong leadership skills and has supervised other professionals.Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and working under strict deadlines.Displays strong written and verbal communication skills.Exhibits excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, coupled with outstanding organizational abilities.
