Community Transportation Project Coordinator
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Client is a New Jersey based multilingual communications and community outreach firm. The firm is seeking a Community Coordinator (Coordinator) for a transportation/infrastructure project. The Coordinator is an important point of contact for communities on this transportation/infrastructure project. The Coordinator will be asked to disseminate project information to stakeholders and the general public. The Coordinator will also be responsible for responding to community needs, as well as providing regular updates and advisories.
Duties And Responsibilities (may Include Any Of The Following)
Coordinate with stakeholders, constituents, project team, and contractorsCoordinate and work closely with team membersCoordinate outreach activities and support media eventsUpdate the Project websiteSupport Project Communications OfficerEngage with the communityRespond to community concerns and inquiriesAttend community meetings and eventsPerform administrative tasks as neededDevelop, maintain, and keep a calendar of community events, including Ethnic/Religious Festivals, Street Fairs, Marathons and ParadesDevelop a Community Notification Network, identifying key community institutions and organizations by name, association, and address.Preparation of informational materials, including construction notices and electronic communications, notices, newsletters as needed. Provide write-ups for inclusion in the newsletters.Provide photos and videos of project eventsPerform project area surveysEnsure email distribution lists are establishedDocument project progressAll other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Strong oral and written communications and problem resolution skills.Extremely organized and detailed orientedKnowledge of Microsoft Office.Experience in construction/transportation/infrastructure sectors preferred
Education And Experience
Bachelor's Degree (B. S. or B. A.) Minimum of five (5) years of experience preferably with New Jersey and/or New York City Agencies such as: NYCDDC, NYCDEP, MTA and/or NJDOT
