General Manager

Client is a modern, globally-inspired eatery (and full bar) serving great-tasting versions of hand selected dishes from around the world, and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and develop a team in providing an outstanding guest experience. This position will be reporting to the Director of Operations. Responsibilities/Duties

Assumes ultimate responsibility for the quality of the guests' dining experience, team member's experience, and the safe and profitable functioning of the restaurant and barAccountable for labor in all departments, making sure all schedules are done in accordance with the budget, and ensuring the best coverage for guest satisfactionWorks in accordance with the accounting department, providing all accurate information needed to produce DSR s, P&L s, budget and payrollCommitted to operating the units within the means of the budget providedWorks with the Director of Operations, Executive Chef, managers and staff to assure quality in food productAssures that all purchasing is done for the best quality products per specification and from approved vendorsCoaches all management and team members to follow job descriptions, and operating policies and proceduresEnsures all management and staff training and development is performed correctly and thoroughly to ensure minimal staff turnoverProvides managers and associates with goals, tools, and assistance in accomplishing objectives determined by the ownerAssigns weekly goals to management and ensures their completion, while accomplishing his/her own goals determined by ownerResponsible for daily manager s report and other guidelines for effective and efficient shift management, including kitchen line checks and pre-shift service meetingsMaintains manager s agenda and opening and closing checklists for all departmentsWorks with the Executive Chef and Owner in designing strategies for menu specials relating to food costs, budget and variancesResponsible for oversight of the bar program (with a direct report manager) including bar inventory, procedures, staff, and maintaining compliance with all applicable TABC laws and policiesMakes sure all marketing strategies are planned and executed efficiently and in a timely mannerResponsible for operating the property in accordance with all state and local laws and ordinancesPledges to perform job functions while upholding company policy and procedures according to company operating policies manual.Operate ethically and responsibly to protect the integrity of the company and the well-being of work environment

Qualifications And Skills

3+ years as a general manager in a high volume, full-service restaurantHigh School Diploma requiredCollege Degree preferred, but not necessaryHealth Department CertifiedMust possess detailed knowledge of front and back of the house management.Must be proficient in budgeting, product ordering, perpetual inventories, staff selection, scheduling, training, and customer service.
