Outreach Manager, Water Conservation

Job Description:-

We are looking to build interest and rebate application volume for the Tampa Bay Water Wise commercial, institutional, and industrial water efficiency rebate offerings. We are looking for an outreach and/or sales professional with experience in engaging multifamily, business, institutional, and industrial organizations.The initial outreach efforts will involve a combination of outreach strategies including but not limited to cold calling, emailing, events, presentations, and partnership development with local associations.The Outreach Manager will gain a detailed understanding of the Water Wise program rebate offerings and work to promote the program to businesses, industry organizations, contractors, schools, and municipal organizations. This position will play a key role in helping these customers find a contractor to complete a detailed cost and project proposal for the water savings technology. The Outreach Manager will report to our Director of Utility and Government Services and will work closely with Tampa Bay Water staff.Once relationships have been developed, the Outreach Manager will work to identify eligible water savings opportunities by doing site visits or working with contractors to evaluate more complex opportunities. After an opportunity has been identified, the Outreach Manager will ensure the proposed project meets program rules to be eligible for a rebate. The goal is to help customers complete their projects, ensure data is entered into our online rebate portal and the customer receives their rebate. We also want to ensure the customer has a smooth experience throughout the program.The ideal candidate has some technical understanding of irrigation systems, building systems and/or building maintenance since the outreach efforts will be focused on finding ways to reduce water use at customer sites. Projects may include but are certainly not limited to toilet replacements, faucet and showerhead replacements, commercial kitchens, irrigation system improvements, recycling wastewater, new laundry systems and cooling towers. Past experience in other technical sales positions and relevant transferrable skills will be considered.The Outreach Manager will be supported by a marketing team to provide all necessary outreach materials and support the overall strategy. There will be a well-supported initial training period to cover the rebate program rules and learn the necessary technologies involved in water conservation. We plan for plenty of ongoing on-the-job training including technical training on water efficiency technology and training on conducting water audits.

Skills:-

Experience In Customer Outreach And/or Sales.

Comfortable and confident with cold calls and outreach to new contacts. Good at developing relationships and quick to establish competency with new people. Professional demeanor and a good representative of the Water Wise brand.

Excellent Oral And Written Communication Skills.

This position will require the ability to succinctly explain program rules and benefits to customers in person, in calls, and in emails. Ability to write brief (2-3 pages) reports summarizing project opportunities from a provided report template.

Basic analytical skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets is required.

Ability to conduct basic analysis of data and use Excel functions. Ability to learn and understand technical data related to water-using devices. Ability to conduct basic cost-saving analyses. Experience with summarizing high-level project financials (project costs and estimated simple payback from rebate and water cost savings) is a plus.

Self-starter. Ability to be motivated, diligent, and organized.

This position will have a lot of autonomy without day-to-day supervision. This position requires a high level of organization and drive to stay on top of outreach and follow-up with customers.

Prior experience and a passion for sustainability initiatives is a plus.

Past Experience and Education:-

3-5 years of experience in prior outreach or sales positions.Preferred technical experience in water efficiency or related technology.Bachelor's Degree preferred.
