Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Additional Knowledge: Working knowledge of IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 standards desired
Job Experience: 5-7 years experience. Associate's degree with 10+ years of experience as alternative.
Ability to work effectively with customers required.
Manufacturing Engineering / Quality Assurance experience in the automotive industry
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
Customer Project Coordination:Coordinates containment activities in the event of a customer complaint.Act as customer liaison/customer interface for all Quality-related actions.Performs 8D management.Review and implement changes to customer standards.Coordinate and facilitate external/customer requested audits.Participates as an Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) teammember for PPAP and Change Requests, including keeping customer updated on APQP activities and submission of documents Quality EngineeringPerforms root cause analysis studies and take appropriate follow-up actions.Troubleshoot problems encountered in current processes.Generate cost-saving (productivity) recommendations.Supports problem solving for internal and external complaints. Quality AssuranceCoordinate Quality Engineering Department's IATF-16949 compliance activities and audits.Manage customer audits.Ensure documentation in compliance with IATF-16949 including, preparation and editing of procedures and Standard work instructions as necessary.Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.Maintain systematic and efficient filing systems of quality documents.Coordinate quality system training for current employees and new hires.Coordinate internal audits, sometimes acting as Lead Auditor.Ensure documentation is distributed and maintained on the shop floor.Ensure equipment is in calibration and documented.Ensure safety standards are documented and followed.
Expectations
Experience and knowledge of common automotive customer portals desired.Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).TPS or other Lean Manufacturing experience (5S, Standard Work, TPM) a plusPrevious experience completing Gage R&Rs, capability studies, part layouts and use of other quality tools desired.
