Staff Software Engineer

POSITION IS LOCATED IN BELLEVUE, WA

Join our innovative and dynamic People Technology engineering team as a Staff Software Engineer. In this role, you will play an important role in designing, developing, and implementing digital solutions that solve mission critical business problems in supporting Walmart associates. Your projects will make a significant impact, be scalable, and drive Walmart's modernization efforts in the People Technology organization.

People Technology is one of the major segments of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Services, which is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and the Associate Digital Experience.

What you'll do:Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product, and other software engineers to understand the business problem, review business requirements, draft technical requirements, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems.Collaborate with your team to perform design and code reviews, provide constructive feedback, improve operational excellence to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable and performant systems.Create and enhance medium sized applications, services, or significant set of components within a large application.Willing to learn and contribute in any layer of the stack, from front-end development to back-end services and data.

What you'll bring:At least 8+ years of relevant industry experience in building highly available systems.Understanding of cloud technology (architecture and deployments), including - Azure Offerings, Cloud storage, Cloud security, Cloud migrationExperience with CI/CD and operational excellence best practices.Experience with backend languages such as Java, Python or NodeJsExperience in GraphQL and data pipelinesExperience with third-party integrations via libraries, SDKs and APIsAdvanced knowledge of design patterns, data structures and algorithmsExpertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)
