Position Summary

Leadership coaches play a key role in the University’s Student Leadership Programs. Coaches will work with students to help develop them as leaders, using the leadership vision and attributes established by WashU Leads.

The Overall Goal For Students Is To Help Them

Engage in deeper inquiry and insight into their self, particularly their sense of purpose and guiding values.Develop a leadership identity and an understanding of the form or approach that best fits the student.Demonstrate growth in leadership capability, which results in a meaningful impact in career and community.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Coach students and/or faculty in the WashU Leads leadership model, helping them utilize strengths and identify areas for development, set goals, and create a measurable plan for achieving goals. Develop and implement coaching program for students and faculty with the Director of Student Leader Development.Help develop and lead workshops for students associated with the coaching program.Coordinate administration of student-facing programs.Performs other duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field.Knowledge relevant to leadership education best practices and current research.Training and experience in coaching or counseling.Experience in developing workshops or content for students.Experience helping students advance their personal or professional growth, particularly in the area of leadership.Experience in academic affairs, leadership education, student affairs, or a related field. Experience in using psychological assessments related to interpersonal skills.Excellent oral communication skills and listening skills.Strong commitment to and understanding of leadership education and working with an increasingly diverse student population.Ability to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity and ethics in both performance and behavior at all times.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years or relevant experience working with students or leaders and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range

$52,000.00 - $88,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
