Strategic & Commercial Finance Analyst

The Corporate Development team is on a mission: to keep Waymo ahead of the pack through cutting-edge corporate strategy and technology. We share knowledge, invest, partner with like-minded companies (and sometimes acquire them), and make other strategic transactions to keep Waymo driving ahead. Before we act, we do incredibly in-depth research into the automotive and technology ecosystems; build advanced financial models; and perform due diligence of all types. This role will be remote and report into our Head of Strategic & Commercial Finance.

In This Role You'll

Collaborate across numerous Waymo teams to analyze and pressure test the long-term drivers of the business across multiple company-wide business linesBuild financial models related to various long-term results for WaymoDerive strategic insights and lead business action via financial data and independent/external researchEngage with business partners to provide financial oversight for decisions, including driving business review forums and other strategic analysesConduct financial analysis for and assist in other ad-hoc and highly visible strategic projectsCollaborate with other teams within FP&A on improving financial planning practices

At a Minimum We'd Like You To Have

5+ years experience in finance or business analysis, including private equity, equity research, corporate finance, or other associated fieldsFinancial acumen with financial modeling skills and deep familiarity with financial statementsExperience utilizing financial data and research to make recommendations and drive strategic business decisionsExperience partnering and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the businessBachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related subject areas

It's Preferred If You Have

2+ years experience in investment banking, consulting or any other analytically intensive rolesExperience in valuation methodologies and principlesManagement consulting experience on engagements requiring financial modeling or go-to-market knowledgeIndustry knowledge or interest in the rideshare, automotive, or autonomous vehicle industriesSoftware or other tech industry experienceMBA with a focus on finance or CFA certification

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Salary Range

$145,000—$184,000 USD
