Compliance Specialist
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Weiser Security is looking for a Compliance Specialist to work alongside our Director of Compliance in our corporate office in New Orleans.
This position plays crucial role in ensuring a company adheres to state compliance laws specifically to licensing and training. Responsible for monitoring and implementing compliance programs as well as training employees on regulations and state laws.
This position assists the Compliance Director in overseeing company licensing. The position requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of an organization.
These are not the only duties to be performed by this employee. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and duties requested by his or her supervisor.
Essential Functions
Conduct regular and comprehensive audits of internal systems and procedures to ensure compliance. Regular audits of licensed employees.
Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans when necessary and provide general guidance to avoid future problems.
Serve as point of contact for branches to seek guidance and clarifications on policies and procedures.
Stay up to date on state’s regulatory developments.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program to prevent future problems.
Provide reports on a regular basis, as directed or requested, to keep the senior management informed of the status of compliance.
Organize and coordinate compliance training to focus on the elements of state licensing and compliance program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Organizational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, manage multiple projects at one time and keep deadlines.
High ethical standards
Experience in compliance departments or auditing is desired
Minimum Requirements
High School Graduate or G.E.D.
Must have clean Criminal Background
