You are a skilled and experienced Cloud Architect (Azure) to join our team and play a pivotal role in the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) within Public Health. The DMI initiative is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar effort aimed at modernizing data infrastructure across the federal and state public health landscape. As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure data pipelines to facilitate the seamless movement and integration of data from disparate systems across multiple data centers into a new data lake or data warehouse within the Azure Cloud environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing a variety of shared services in the cloud to enhance the utilization of these data sources for the DMI initiative.

Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the requirements and objectives of the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) within Public Health.Design and architect end-to-end data pipelines using Azure services to efficiently move, transform, and store data from diverse data systems into a centralized data lake or data warehouse in the Azure Cloud.Implement data integration strategies tailored to the complex and varied data landscape of federal and state public health agencies, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility.Configure and optimize Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage to support the processing and analysis of large-scale datasets.Establish shared services and infrastructure components within the Azure Cloud environment to enable seamless data access and utilization by stakeholders across federal and state public health agencies.Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, implementing robust security measures and governance frameworks to protect sensitive health information.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, epidemiologists, public health analysts, and IT professionals to leverage data insights for informed decision-making and policy development.Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in cloud architecture and data engineering, continuously evaluating and recommending innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of data modernization efforts.

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.Extensive experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on Azure data services.Proven expertise in designing and implementing complex data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant Azure services.Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data governance principles.Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or Scala.Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate (preferred).Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
