Job Summary

Westat is seeking a Research Associate to join a multi-disciplinary team that conducts research and provides technical assistance on special education programs funded by the federal government.

Remote work arrangement available.

Job Responsibilities

Communicate with grant recipients about regulatory and data collection issues. Respond to telephone and email inquiries received through the help desk. Conduct data collection activities including non-response follow-up. Conduct descriptive analyses and draft reports. Support virtual meetings, including taking notes. Test data collection websites for usability and functionality.

Basic Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in social science, education, or another relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience OR an MA/MS degree in social science, education, or another relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience at the postgraduate level.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Indian Education, Office of Special Education Programs, or Rehabilitation Services Administration. Education research, analysis or data collection experience preferred. Previous Helpdesk or technical assistance experience preferred. Website usability and functionality testing experience preferred. Level 5C clearance with the U.S. Department of Education. Bilingual (Spanish).

Other Required Qualifications

Demonstrated communication skills. Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Organization skills, including time management ability. Detail oriented.
