Maintenance Specialist

Summary

Westlake Chemical is offering an opportunity to apply your experience and skills as a Maintenance Specialist based in Longview, Washington. The Maintenance Specialist is a salaried exempt position with no supervisory responsibilities. This position concentrates on coordinating service contractors performing maintenance and repairs at Longview plant site. All activities are developed for the safe, efficient and environmentally sound repairs of the equipment.

Duties And Responsibilities

May include, but are not limited to, the following

Coordinating all maintenance related contract services for PM and corrective maintenance work orders utilizing the SAP PM systemContract predictive and preventative maintenance inspectionsQualify and manage contractors according to Westlake’s Contractor policiesProvide vacation relief for Maintenance SupervisorParticipate in weekend duty rotation with other maintenance team membersRequisition needed service work and manages contractors working on blanket purchase ordersReview service jobs, resourcing P&IDs, Pipe & Valve specifications, equipment database, current safety procedures and all other necessary resourcesAcquire bids for all needed contractor services and process invoicesUpdate equipment database, spare parts and Bill of Materials information as requiredWork closely with operations/maintenance coordinator, operations supervision and maintenance planner on prioritizing and scheduling workReviewing the work management system on a periodic basisUpdating work management system process as requiredCloses associated completed work orders in SAP, including hours on specified task, and necessary notesExample of specific services and contract maintenance include but are not limited to the following: painting, insulation, scaffolding, mobile equipment, rental equipment, fire/sprinkler systems

Education, Experience And Qualifications

Minimum 8 years’ work experience as a mechanic, pipefitter or electrician, or as an electrical or maintenance plannerGood communication skills, both verbal and written, good planning and organizational skillsFamiliarity with maintenance planning and scheduling are requiredProficiency with Windows based software (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint) requiredExperience with SAP preferredAbility to work independently to resolve issues or problems on a day-to-day basisWillingness and able to obtain current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $145,000. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
