Title: Cut Off Operator
Shift: 1 st shift
Pay: $17.95-19.56 based on experience
The Opportunity
The Cut Off Operator will operate a variety of Metal Cutting Equipment, including Saws, Shears and Sanders, to cut a variety of materials including steel and aluminum to manufacturing specifications.
Responsibilities Include
Identify material requirements from drawings or cut lists and fill job orders Measure stock to length or dimension for angle cuts, scribe between dimensions, cut from layout, using fixtures provided on ganged or single piece angle workSet up and operate a full range of structural metal working machines such as automatic band saw, chop saws, abrasive saws, and automatic cutting machineryEquipment may be manual, automatic, and/or programmableAdjust speeds and feed for a wide variety of materialsRemove material burrs utilizing manual of automatic deburring toolsMaintain inventory of stock raw materials through ordering and receiving as needed. Store stock materialsPromptness, follow work scheduleCleanup of work area and shop as needed or directedRequired Hand tools: Tape measure, Combination square, Protractor
What You Need To Succeed
Experience with operation of a Bandsaw You will have some knowledge of the operation of shearCan read and understand the use of a standard tape measureCan read and understand manufacturing drawings or blueprints Have a basic knowledge of machine shop fundamentals Able to lift seventy (70) poundsKnowledge of difference in metalsCan check work, using scales, square, protractor, template and sample or by fitting to mating parts
