The Pipeline Safety Manager will lead a team responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of an effective pipeline safety program to ensure pipeline design, construction and operation is conducted in a safe and compliant manner. This role will establish the procedures and processes to help ensure that the physical risk associated with pipeline safety is handled. Maintaining collaborative and positive partner relationships and providing outstanding customer service are keys to success in this role!

Responsibilities/Expectations
Cultivates relationships with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and other pipeline safety regulators including state agenciesConducts internal audits to identify compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) driven procedures; coordinates and facilitates inspections and visits from state and federal regulatorsMonitors, reviews and interprets rule making activity; defines and documents our interpretation of pipeline safety laws and jurisdictional determinationsEstablishes and documents enterprise procedures and processes to address physical risk associated with pipeline safetyEstablishes and tracks performance metrics, identifies and advances performance improvement initiativesLeads, provides support and participates in incident investigationsRepresents our organization on various committees and working teamsCoordinates workforce planning and career development activities for direct employeesDevelops expense plan and forecasts; conducts regular cost analysisOther duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; a minimum six (6) years’ experience in natural gas or liquids pipeline with emphasis in operations or design and minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory/management experience

Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skillsSolid understanding of PHMSA regulations
