Electrician - HVAC

Electrician - HVAC start at $32.57/hour

Essential Functions*:

Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area.Connect heating or air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit.Adjust system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system.Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, or changing filters.Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.Understand and interprets complex drawings, schematics, and operational manuals. Understand and interpret various testing equipment to diagnose and complete repairs of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and refrigeration controls, including process steam and air.Overhaul large air conditioning compressors. Checks and adjusts superheat and sub-cooling on air conditioning system.

Position Requirements*:

Must have an EPA HVAC Certification. Section 608 Technician Certification preferred, as required by 40 CFR, Part 82, Sub-part F. Minimum of 3 years recent and relevant experience preferred; diagnosis and repair of air conditioning systems. Certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school, vocational school, or military equivalent preferred and may be substituted for two years of experience.Must have basic knowledge of motors and motor controls.Working knowledge of precision measurement tools. Mechanical skills and abilities. Experience in operation of basic shop equipment including hand help power tools; electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatically driven.Capable of climbing ladders to access roofs.Must have ability to braze and solder Freon lines and operate Freon reclaiming systems.Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a Government driver's license.Ability to lift, carry and push 50-150 pounds.Specific environmental training will be required for incumbents. Including but not limited to HAZMAT, HAZCOM, Fire protection, Asbestos control, and decontamination of equipment.Ability and willingness to work Weekends, including overtime.This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
