📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure, is seeking a discipline Design Technician (water process design) to join our company. This position can be located in our Portland or Topsham, ME offices.
Responsibilities
Performs increasingly complex technical drawing and model development tasksWorks under general supervision of the Discipline Design Specialist or responsible Project EngineerPerforms process piping, mechanical equipment, and site piping layoutsCoordinates with other building disciplinesCreates process flow schematicsCreates design models, drawings, and mapsLayout and CAD coordination of designDevelops clear and concise drawings for bid and constructionUtilizes company drawing development standards and guidelinesManages work within given project budgets and schedulesSupervise, coordinate, and direct activities of others, as needed
Essential Functions
Follows established Wright-Pierce standards, protocols, processesEffective written and verbal communication skillsPersonal organization and time management skillsAble to build strong relationship with coworkersExcellent attention to detail
Experience
8 years’ progressively responsible experience using specific and advanced computer-aided design applications in water/wastewater industryCandidates with less than 8 years of experience in a related field may be consideredExperience using design and modeling software including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM in water/wastewater designExperience with Revit release 2016 or newer (Primary)Experience with AutoCAD software release 2014 or newer (Secondary)
Physical Requirements
Minor lifting and physical activity as part of occasional field workAble to perform field site visits with occasional overnight stays
Education
Associates degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience
