Position Estimator- Commercial/Industrial
Location Biloxi, MS
Skills And Experience
This position will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation for commercial and industrial construction project proposals and bids. You will identify and compute labor, material, and time costs by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and other bid documents. Mentoring other Estimators will be another aspect of this role.
Requirements
3+ years previous construction estimating experience with commercial projects; public, private or federal projects Experience working on large projects preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-orientedStrong working knowledge of estimating software like Timberline, OST and MC2Working knowledge of programs such as Primavera (P6), Bluebeam, Synchro, Excel, and WordWell-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplinesB.S. Degree – Construction Management or Engineering preferred
Essential Job Duties
Visit project and pre-bid meetings to understand site conditions/scope.Review plans and specifications.Provide accurate take-off.Work with estimating team to build the estimate and pricing.Develop preliminary schedule.
