Boiler Technician/Maintenance Tech (on site Spartanburg, SC)

About the Job

As a Boiler Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping Yokohama's US flagship agricultural tire manufacturing plant running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance, repair, and installation of boiler room equipment;Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses & repairs all boiler room equipment;Coordinates contractors as necessary for more major repairs;Communicates maintenance needs to ensure the boilers are running properly for the future;Provide guidance to other technicians on boiler room equipment repairs;Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested;Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary;Maintains tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear;Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining CMMS (computer maintenance management system);Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need;Maintains proper safety stock of parts needed to keep the boiler room running;

Key Requirements

At least one (1) year of industrial maintenance experience or the equivalent certification from a technical school;Boiler & compressed air generation and delivery system experience;Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and proceduresPerforming lubrication Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all equipment related to the boiler room systems.Maintaining proper storage and inventory of all lubricants, including upkeep of storage location.Participate in PM development and scheduled parts replacement based upon visual inspection of equipment while performing lubrication task;Inform EHS department of any issues pertaining to major spills, leaks, or loss of oils and lubrication materials;Apply"best environmental practices" to all storage, transportation and disposal of oils and lubricants, containers, and residue;Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and CMMS, and ability to navigate through windows based energy monitoring system;At least one (1) year of industrial facilities and utilities maintenance experience within a manufacturing/production environment;Familiar with compressed air generation and delivery systems;Familiar with industrial steam generators and boilers;Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail;Demonstrated good communication and team work;Available to work shifts as needed to accommodate the manufacturing schedule and any breakdowns;High school diploma or GED required
