Job Description

To ensure RESPA compliance through careful review of closing documents. Perform basic tasks requiring basic research. Level I: Work under direct supervision.Responsibilities:Validate processed refunds to ensure the refund processed appropriately in accordance with regulatory guidelines and systems reflect correct dates and dollar amountsGenerate corrected closing document from the loan origination systemGenerate member notification letters outlining actions taken/needed to ensure adherence to RESPA guidelines for refund and non-refund loansSend corrected Closing Disclosure to Borrower and Settlement AgentClose tasks as appropriate in MSPMaintain knowledge of federal and state closing requirements, as well as mortgage loan products; remain cognizant of changes in regulations to comply with existing requirementsDocument utilizing applicable systems for reporting purposes and ensure compliance with regulations and guidelineReview scanned mortgage documentation and index the image into the appropriate document typePerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsExposure to mortgage lending principles, concepts and practices including mortgage processing, servicing and underwritingExposure to reviewing/analyzing loans for compliance with Federal/state/county/NCUA/ laws, regulations and policiesFamiliarity with financial institution and lending practices, principles and regulationsExperience in an accounting or banking operation, preferably dealing with payments, transactions, and balancingExperience in member/customer service preferably in a call center/retail banking/financial institutionEffective knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA loansEffective knowledge of RESPA & TRID guidelinesExposure to managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goalsFamiliarity with mortgage loan processing, closing and documentation requirements and regulationsEffective knowledge of Government Loans guarantyEffective clerical, technical or administrative skillsEffective research, analytical, and problem solving skillsEffective organizational, planning and time management skillsEffective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisionsEffective skill following, interpreting and applying relevant data/instructions to guidelines, procedures, practices and regulationsEffective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlinesEffective skill performing mathematical calculations and working accurately with numbersEffective verbal and written communications skillsEffective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
