Summary: The purpose of the Manager Master Data Management position is to help guide the organization through architecting and leading the consolidation of data management activities. As key leader within the Information Technology function, this position is responsible for collaborating across all business groups and functions to develop and integrate Master Data Management best practices and tools. This role reports to the Executive Director Financial Planning & Analysis, is accountable to the to the Executive Technology Steering Committee, and will assist in the design and upkeep of the Master Data Management program. This role also serves as a liaison between departments and serves as a subject matter expert when new and existing data sets are introduced into the system. They will be a true business partner, with strong interpersonal and influence skills, and must develop strong relationships with senior leadership while managing expectations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of the MDM program for all data domains.

Responsible for Master Data Management (MDM) deployment globally, including the architecture and selection of tools used to govern, as well as administration and adoption.

Drive a data integrity culture by ensuring that MDM assets are understood, available and used.

Understand full master data lifecycle (including unique business and legal data requirements of various functions) and how quality data can be best provided, analyzed, preserved and optimized to leverage business benefit.

Ensure best practices related to data lifecycle management and master data governance (quality, integrity, management, ownership, security and control protection, and archiving).

Establish rules and processes for data quality management, defining standards, validation techniques, and guidelines for data entry.

Provide guidelines for data standardization, naming conventions, and business rules.

Establish protocols for data protection, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR or HIPAA.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of business operations and models as well as the critical business issues and requirements.

Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, supply chain and operational teams to gather data requirements as well as promote and ensure data submissions and adherence to policies.

In collaboration with Finance and Technology, set the strategy and vision for building and maintaining an enterprise Master Data consolidation, rationalization, enrichment, and archiving program.

Actively research and employ new, innovative strategic analysis and assessments to identify opportunities to introduce MDM tools and practices into existing processes.

Responsible for driving any data migration strategy during the M&A and other ERP consolidation projects.

Work Environment: The work is typically indoors in an office environment but may also work in the field with outside sales and/or a warehouse environment.

Work Hours: The work schedule is 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. Initial start time may vary, with work hours typically from 8am-5pm. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The position resides in Orange County but may be hybrid with 2 days being remote work.

Physical and Mental Demands: Sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or negligible amounts of force frequently, to move objects. This job also requires constant sitting. Constant use of the upper extremities is required to reach, handle, and position tools and equipment. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols and maintain a professional and polished appearance and be able to efficiently use Microsoft Office Programs and other systems at a highly advanced level. The employee must also be able to maintain and preserve confidentiality of company information, exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders including international affiliates.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a technical study such as Computer Science, Business Operations, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in Master

Preferred Required

Data Management, strategies, and leadership is required. Previous experience in the beauty/personal care/CPG industry is preferred. Additional skills and abilities include:
