📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Regulations and Government Relations Engineer is responsible for conducting vehicle and engine testing, data collection, processing, and analysis. In addition this person would also be responsible for writing reports and preparing technical presentations for both internal management and external customers.
Qualifications:In-depth knowledge of working principles of internal combustion enginesIn-depth knowledge of alternative propulsion technologies such as hybrid systemsVehicle system knowledgeUnderstanding of federal requirements as they pertain to vehicle performance and emissions testingUnderstanding of CARB and international regulatory requirements as they pertain to engine and vehicle testing including fuel requirementsNeeds excellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to interpret code of federal regulations and communicate the findings effectivelyAbility to understand and adapt to vehicle and powertrain the testing environmentsUnderstanding of basic principles of engine and powertrain calibrationBachelor engineering degree, preferably Masters (can be ME or EE)Prior exposure to regulatory requirements
