Manager, Test Engineering

Zoox is looking for an effective and experienced test engineering manager to lead the compute test development team. In this highly visible and cross-functional role, you will help direct the test engineers who develop manufacturing test solutions for cutting-edge computing platforms that power our autonomous robotaxi. You will mentor and develop a team of engineers and technicians to improve our test coverage and be a key driver of our test methodology. This team is responsible for a large variety of products ranging from high-performance server machines, PCIe devices (GPUs, NVMe, custom PCBAs, etc), and custom power supplies. You will guide the development of best practices across test hardware and software (the test programs are written in Python and Shell). Having hands-on experience with both the hardware and software aspects is beneficial.

In This Role, You Will

Qualifications

BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree10+ years of industry experience or equivalent5+ years of direct management experience with teams of 5 or more engineersExperience in testing complex electronic assemblies such as server-grade computers and sub-assembliesExperience with manufacturing tests of PCIe devices such as GPUs, network cards, NVMe drivesKnowledge of Python and shell (bash) scriptingExperience with the Linux platform - debugging, terminal expertise, troubleshooting, etc

Bonus Qualifications

MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degreeKnowledge of automotive protocols such as CAN and hardware interfacesExperience with Contract Manufacturers and engagement with vendors

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $177,000 to $294,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
