Job Role : Health and Safety CoordinatorLocation : Lansing, MI
Job Description
Overall Job Purpose:General assistance and support to the Health and Safety Manager, ensuring safe practice for the site.
Main Duties
To include, but not be restricted to, the following duties:1. Provide general support and assistance to the Health and Safety Manager.2. Assist the Health and Safety Manager with Health and Safety monitoring activities.3. Assist the Health and Safety Officer and Manager with the management of fire/tornado safety throughout the buildings.4. Assist in Health and Safety audits and produce audit reports and follow up any actions.5. Assist with the coordination and management of health and safety supplies.6. Liaise closely with the Facilities Management team to manage issues relating to the facilities service provision, and specifically waste disposal, buildings, fire safety equipment, electrical testing and safety audit non-compliances.7. Provide clerical support to the Health and Safety Manager and Health and Safety Forum.8. Assist the Health and Safety Manager to maintain and coordinate any online training software and/or processes.9. Assist in the identification of need and preparation of risk assessments, compliance and training of staff, with particular reference to machine risk assessments and etc.10. Review, record checks and file as needed.11. Review relevant safety signage as requested by Manager.12. Review and record the First Aid and spill kit provision across local plant.
Required Skills
Knowledge in station ErgonomicsKnowledge in updating station/ robot lock out tag out instructions.Involved in new hire orientations.Ensure mandatory trainings are completed and turned in on time.Knowledge in Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of OSHA requirements/ standards.Completed OSHA 10 or 30 course.Knowledge completing 8Dās, creating corrective/ preventative action to avoid re-occurrence.Maintain incident reports.Communication skills reporting out incidents/ environmental issues.Maintain professionalism under pressure.Great with working with the management team and production members
Required EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent GED required.
Required Years of Experience 2 years or more in similar role
Desired Skills EMT experience is nice to have.
