Convert all assigned requisitions of both raw materials and finished goods into Purchase Orders. Maintain accurate available to promise dates for all Purchase Orders. Clear up all match exceptions between suppliers and accounts payable. Work with the Planning Department to ensure all information is correct: leadtimes, safety stocks, transit times, port of delivery, freight terms, etc. Efficiently maintain the system to provide accurate information regarding item costs. Track all key supplier surveys and information. Implement process improvement initiatives for the department.

Convert all assigned requisitions into Purchase orders timely and accurately (pricing/quantities/delivery). Ensure all assigned suppliers confirm Purchase Order dates weekly. If any dates do not meet need by dates, follow up with suppliers and work to improve to ensure timely delivery. Ensure materials are delivered to meet planned schedule dates in production facilities and to meet end Customer delivery commitments. Work closely with planning group to ensure data attributes are aligned with supplier leadtimes, capacities, transportation, suppliers calendars, and appropriate safety stocks. Work cohesively and collaboratively across all internal departments, including Operations, Accounting, and CustomerCare, as well as with Elkay’s external supplier partners to meet internal and external customer expectations. Communicate with Planning any dates that do not meet forecasted demand. Responsible for identifying discrepancies and resolving them with responsible suppliers. Communicate with suppliers by sending out the Supplier Scorecard letters advising key suppliers of their KPI ratings. Ensure key follow up. Execute key supplier surveys and follow-up for sustainability, compliance, handbook, etc. Work with suppliers to identify and execute cost out opportunities.

Assist in preparation of training documentation. Assist in training of new Buyers. Provides ongoing coaching and mentoring. Participate in Career Fairs.
